Add active cooling to your Bambu A1 with this precise 40 mm fan adapter. It clips your fan securely into place and fits perfectly onto the curved A1 housing to improve airflow and stabilize internal temperatures.
I wanted a slim and lightweight solution so please be careful when removing the part from build plate or removing supports. The model only uses 10,5g (left side) 7,5g (right side).
The Bambu A1 has no built‑in case-ventilation. This adapter lets you easily add a 40 mm fan to both sides of the printer.
I recommend
Left side: exhausts warm air
Right side: brings in fresh air
The adapter matches the A1’s shape and vent pattern exactly, ensuring even airflow across the entire opening. The fan snaps in using integrated clip‑in pins — no screws or inserts needed. Mounting with thin double‑sided tape keeps it secure and also reduces vibration.
• Fits 40×40×10 mm fans (40×40×20 mm fans also fit)
• Clip‑in mounting, no screws required
• Tested with a 12 V Papst fan, but any standard 40 mm fan works
Fan can be powered via a step‑down module. The A1 has 2 MX3.0 (2x2) connectors delivering 24 Volts. If you only use one (e.g. AMS lite) the second one could serve as a power source. Make sure to step down the 24 Volts to whatever your fan needs.
Prints in place
Manual supports added to save filament
Good part cooling needed for overhangs
Tested with PLA, other materials are also suitable
