I love my MK3 but was sad it has no built-in camera like other comparable printers. I had a spare ESP32 camera lying around and figured that I could find a mount for it. However, after much searching, I decided to design my own, and this is the result.

Installation

This only requires a single M3 18mm hex screw, which goes into the remain hole of the X-axis motor. The camera itself attaches to the mount using the screws and brass spacers that came with the ELEGOO Smart Robot Car Kit V4.0

To power the camera, you can use the USB-C port directly, but note that the other end of the cable must be USB-A for it to work properly. However, I would recommend using jumper wires, following the guide in the last picture for positive and negative. Route the wires up and out of the case, then to the camera, making sure to leave some slack so it does not get caught. This method ensures the camera is only on when the printer is on.

To view the video feed, connect to the camera's WiFi signal, then navigate to 192.168.4.1 in your browser.

Print Settings

Print without supports and if desired, with a brim. The infill percentage and layer height don't really matter. I would recommend setting the number of perimeters to 3 to make the mount less likely to snap under its own weight, although it may still bend back and forth a little bit.
