SV08 One-Piece XY Gantry Joints for Belt Alignment Correction

The modified SV08 XY gantry joints correct the misaligned A and B belts, reducing artifacts like ringing, ghosting and uneven walls.

Unlike most of the other belt correction designs, this is a one piece design to try and help increase rigidity.

Depending on your tool head the following belt clip may be needed to align the X-axis A and B belts .

Recommended Print Settings:

• Material:   ASA-CF

• Perimeters:   5-6

• Infill:  30-40% (Gyroid/Cubic)

• Layer height: 0.2 mm

• Top Z-Distance 0.1mm

• Tree(auto) supports

• Organic style supports

• On build plate only   -  True

Assembly Instructions

• The idler pulley holes are toleranced for a medium interference fit with the 5 mm dowel pins. If the fit is excessively tight, the holes may need to be opened slightly.

• Gently tap the 5 mm dowel pins into the corresponding holes, using the idler pulleys as spacers to avoid placing excessive stress on the material.
  Note: An earlier revision cracked when the idlers were not used as spacers.

• Once the idler pulleys are positioned, ensure each 5 mm dowel pin is tapped fully in until it seats against the 3 mm shoulder. A pin punch is recommended for this step.

• Be sure to feed the A and B belts through the idlers before attaching the X-beam to the Y-carriages, as this is extremely difficult to do afterward.

• Apply a light thread-locker to all bolts. When securing the X-beam to the Y-carriages, take care not to overtighten the M3 bolts, as this may cause binding or noise during operation.

Disclaimer:

I’ve only ever used these modified XY gantry joints in combination with Nadir’s SV08 Gantry v2 upgrade, so I’m not sure whether they would be compatible with the original Sovol SV08 gantry design.
