This is a hook which clips onto a crutch, with the purpose of holding a bag from the crutch itself.

I had an accident recently for which I'm now in crutches and wearing a bag isn't safe so I was after some way of carrying things without causing further damage.

This hook simply clips onto the crutch above the handle and provides a hook at the back of the crutch.

This is designed for a "Coopers" crutch and should fit any crutch that is 25.5mm thick.

There are two designs included here, version 1 and 2. The photos are of Version 2. The difference between the two versions is that version 2 has a larger hook, version 1 has a smaller hook but both include reinforcement to provide extra strength.

I would advise testing the strength of your hook before you rely on it for carrying goods outside of the house. Mine seems really good for carrying a jacket or a lightweight bag, but it wouldn't be suitable for a bag of shopping etc.

To fit it, angle it on it's front (with the hook facing upwards) and hook the top part around the crutch, then slowly tilt it down so the bottom part clips around the crutch as well.

Mine is printed in PLA and fitted great with no issues.

The Clip item is an optional extra and can be printed separately. It clips onto the crutch above the hook piece and can be slid down, locking any item that's on the hook in place and preventing an opportunistic thief

Notes:

I printed this in PLA but other solid materials should be fine.

As the priority is strength over appearance, I printed in 0.2 micron thickness and 80% gyroidial infill.

I printed it upright (As it would be when fitted to the crutch) with the bottom clip sitting on the print bed and the upper clip at the top, and supports are necessary.

I usually try to avoid requiring supports in my designs but here is was necessary and after 3 different prints, I've had no issues with supports failing to work, or being an issue to easily remove after printing.
