ive been converting models from other storage systems to openGrid recently and found that usually theres not enough space to put Multiconnect slots in and ive had subpar results printing openGrid snaps vertically. we can sidestep these issues by printing the snaps separately and gluing them in place with ca glue or another appropriate adhesive.
these glue in snaps are based on the regular snap models but with the face extruded and chamfered at 0.6mm. by cutting 25mm squares into a model with a depth and chamfer of 0.6mm we can accurately position and glue the snaps after printing. ive been using these snaps for a bit now and the glue joint seems more than strong enough as long as you let it set properly.
print with the large featureless flat face down on the bed.
