My band clamps had no home, so I created this holder to store them compactly on the wall. While this design is made for the Bessey BAN 700 band clamp, it should be easily adjusted for similar clamps (if there are any).

How to Print this Clamp Holder

A Prusa Slicer example project ends in “Print”, where I configured all my recommended settings. The three elements are printed with the front sides on the print bed as shown in the following image:

Check out my recommendations in the table below:

Nozzle Size:0.4mm (larger ones will work well)
Layer Height:0.2mm (is is not very critical)
Filament Materials:PLA, PETG or ASA
Infill:10% (not very critical)
Prusa Slicer Profile:“0.2mm Speed”

Montage

You need three 4mm wood screws with a countersunk head. I used 50mm ones, but 60mm should give extra stability.

Stick the fonts to the back using the alignment cylinder. Insert the wood screws from the front and carefully fasten them by hand.

The design has intentional some slack, but the screws should hold all parts securely in the right positions.

Dimensions

You find all dimensions in the drawing above.

There are two variants of the holder, one for right- and one for left-handed people as you can add the crank on either side of the clamp. Make sure you use the correct one. For comparison, the shown print and photos all show the right-handed version of the print.

About the Fusion360 Design

Disclaimer: I only recommend adjusting the design in Fusion360 if you are an experienced user of this software.

If you open the design, have a look at the parameter list:

These parameters define every important aspect of the resulting model. All parameters with the prefix “clamp_” are about the clamp placed in the holder. The holder itself will adjust around the new clamp dimensions if you adjust these.

The sketch “rough clamp dimensions” uses these parameters to define the overall shape of the clamp. The “base profile” sketch is based on this shape and defines all the required profiles used to create the holder.

Please note: The design will first build the left-handed version of the holder, and it is mirrored in the last step to create the right-handed versions. The reason for this is how I initially measured and sketched the clamp.

Conclusion

Having these band clamps snug at the wall makes everything looks so organized. I have no clue if the shape of these Bessey band clamps is widely used or if this is a niche product. 🤔 In any case, with the Fusion360 design, this holder should be adjustable to a wide range of clamps.

Happy printing and clamping! 😄
