On my Wahoo Kickr Core, mounted on Tennisballs, I always felt that my hands have a lot more stress, as on the street. After a bit of thinking it was clear to me that I raised the backend by about 50% of the height of a Tennisball, but not the front.

I know there are a lot of static front wheel mounts, but if I have Tennisballs on the back which can move in all directions, I didn't want the the front static wheel mount to rub over my floor, or limit the Tennisball movement with rubber under the front mount.

Therefor I designed this.

Fitting Tennisball raiser for the Wahoo Kickr Core can be found here.

See the updates in the differences section below!

Print notes:

I printed it with 0.4mm nozzle MK4S 0.28mm Draft Profile, Snug Support everywhere and 10% gyroid infill, using PETG, but PLA should also be fine.

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

This is a new version which should better fit much more tyres.

Here all changes:

  • I replaced the one 30mm strap mount for 2 25mm slots (30mm apart)
  • I fixed the height of the tyre raiser to 34,4mm (half of a Tennisball) + 17mm, total raise 51,4mm.
  • I added tyre depth to the design, so the axle should be better aligned to where the deepest spot of the raiser is, therefor there are 2 designs, one for road tyres (26mm depth) and one for gravel tyres (36mm depth), in the old design I only used the wheel diameter (622mm diameter), but it should have been wheel plus the build up of the tyre, as this depth depends on the tyre, tyre pressure and rim width combination I can't foreshadow all possible depth and therefor used what I have
  • also updated the design slightly to fit now from 28mm up to 45mm tyres (50mm is also possible, but then the slots for the straps are basically useless)
