Optic Fibre sight designed to friction fit onto a picatinny rail as I think it looks better without bolt holes to bolt it on. Should fit on most picatinny rails snugly and takes a 2mm or 3mm optic fiber rod. If there's enough interest I'm happy to edit the design to take different sized optic fiber or to add bolt holes for securing it on.
The models should already be in the right orientation for printing (front, flat side of the sights facing down). Supports also shouldn't be necessary.
Print on 0.1 (or smaller if you have a smaller nozzle than 0.4mm) otherwise the layer lines are very visible on the back side of the sights. I'd also suggest 100% fill since it's a quick print anyway.
Test fit the sight onto the rail to make sure it fits snug but not too tight it won't go on properly.
You may need to increase or decrease the scale by 1-3% to get it to fit snugly on your rail depending on it's tolerance and the tolerance of your printer, photo included of how to do so in cura.
Put the optic fiber rod through the holes on the sight till it's flush with the backside then cut the other end to length with a pair of flush cutters or cutting pliers (I'd suggest leaving a little bit extra to sand to length). Then sand down the end you cut to make it square, I'd suggest somewhere around 200 grit but all I had was 80 grit and it still looks fine.
Put a small amount of super glue into the hole on the sight and push the cut rod through till it's flush with either side and wait for the glue to set.
Done, repeat for the other sight and enjoy! Don't forget to drop a make so others (and me) can see how it went.
