The empires of the future won't be lived in caves. Quick assembled cities in the desert, made from plascrete, reinforced by plasteel. This is where the wars will be fought. This is where the great city-state megalopolises will arise. All from these humble beginnings.

Originally build around pipeline compression pump stations, these facilities evolve, becoming something more. First small towns and villages, then eventually cities. Some close, some far, but through the course sands of time, towns and cities abrade, then pull together and eventually become the great city-state megalopolises that we know of within the white desert.

That's where the fight for power originates.

Scrabbling through the sand, we fight among ourselves, gathering vast armies of wholesale slaughter. Always pushing deeper, always wanting more. For this is the curse of the living! To want more, the biological imperative to gather more, to procreate, to breed and fight!
