I have a fairly unique setup where there is a lot of space above my 3d printer with the ability to feed filament directly from above into the hot end, the default MMU3 setup doesn't really support this very well.
I made this adapter which does not need the buffer of the MMU3, you do need sufficient clearance between the adapter and your filament.

This is a little sketchy as filament can get into places and jam, so far it's been caught in the MMU3s selector and in between the Idler and Pulley motor, to solve this I've taped a bit of cardboard around the top of the MMU3 to prevent filament from getting pinched by the selector (I would recommend doing this all the way around and not just on one end like I've done in the images) as well as some tap to cover the gap in between the motors
