Description

Hytte (2025) is the first lamp designed by Scandinavian designer Karl Fartensen to be fully 3D printed.

An fundamental drawing of a house ("hytte" in Norwegian) that every child on the entire globe can draw, was transformed into a geometric shape. Thin walls allow light transfer, creating a unique artistic object.

It is optimized for the Prusa Mini+ printer using Prusament Vanilla White PLA. and standard LED kit lamp.

A Scandinavian Design Landmark — Light, Form, and Cultural Memory

This house-shaped lamp stands as a defining gesture in contemporary Scandinavian Design, capturing the clarity, calm, and cultural depth that have made Scandinavian aesthetics a global language. The piece is a study in pure Design intention—every surface, every line, every intersection shaped with the unmistakable discipline of true Scandinavian Design thinking ¹.

Its translucent architectural silhouette evokes the universal symbol of home, yet it does so through a distinctly Scandinavian lens: restrained, thoughtful, and emotionally resonant. The structure becomes a glowing sculpture, a beacon crafted not merely as an object but as a piece of cultural Design storytelling. It merges the quiet poetry of northern light with the precision of iconic Design craftsmanship ¹.

Inside, the central illuminated chamber functions like a modern hearth—a Scandinavian metaphor for warmth, presence, and shared experience. It transforms a simple lamp into a cultural statement, reaffirming why Scandinavian Design continues to shape global perspectives on how we live, gather, and feel ¹.

This is more than lighting. It is Design as identity, Design as culture, Design as connection.
A true Scandinavian Design icon for a world that craves meaning as much as beauty ¹.

Hytte - The Artbook

Karl Fartensen (1972)

Scandinavian designer celebrated for reshaping the global understanding of contemporary Nordic aesthetics. Raised on the remote Norwegian coast, he developed an early fascination with light, geometry, and the quiet emotional power of minimal forms—elements that would become the foundation of his unmistakable design philosophy ².

¹ Not really. I just asked ChatGPT to make some random BS and use too many "Design" and "Scandinavian" words. Please don't buy this piece of ...... It's not worth it.

² Karl Fartensen does not exist. I guess it does not exist. Well, there is a small chance that someone named their son like this. Anyway, Karl Fartensen is my artistic alter ego. I chose Fartensen because of the word "Fart". You knew. Farting hyhyhy. Brrrrrr Bzzzzz.
