Secretlab Magnus Pro Adapter for Mac Studio Under-Desk Mount

This is an adapter bracket that allows a Secretlab Magnus Pro desk (desk leg) to be used with the Mac Studio Under-Desk Mount by Whity:

This model does not replace or modify the Mac Studio cradle.

It is a separate structural interface plate that mounts between the Magnus Pro desk and the existing Mac Studio under-desk mount.

The goal is to preserve Whity’s excellent design while solving Magnus Pro–specific mounting constraints.

Why I made this? 

I recently upgraded to a Secretlab Magnus Pro XL desk. On my previous desk, I had my Mac Studio mounted underneath using Whity’s under-desk mount, which worked great.

With the Magnus Pro XL, I didn’t want to drill into the desk surface. Instead, I wanted to take advantage of the existing computer mount screw pattern on the desk leg that’s intended for a tower PC.

Rather than modifying the original Mac Studio cradle, I designed this adapter plate to bridge the Magnus Pro’s mounting system with Whity’s mount. This preserves the original design’s fit, airflow, and slide-in behavior while allowing a clean, reversible installation on the Magnus Pro XL.

The result is a secure, serviceable setup that uses the desk’s intended mounting points without permanent modification.

What This Adapter Does

• Connects the Magnus Pro desk leg to the Printables Mac Studio under-desk mount

• Preserves the original mount’s:

  • Fit

  • Ventilation

  • Slide-in and removal behavior

• Adds a rigid, reinforced mounting plate designed for the Magnus Pro

• Uses counterbored holes on both sides for clean, flush fastener installation

• Allows Mac Studio removal without uninstalling the desk bracket

This adapter was designed to avoid overly tight tolerances that make removal difficult in real-world under-desk setups.

Installation Overview

1. Bolt the Mac Studio under-desk mount to this adapter

2. Bolt this adapter to the Magnus Pro desk leg

3. Slide the Mac Studio into the cradle as designed

Fasteners:

• Desk to adapter: M5

• Adapter to Mac Studio mount: smaller machine screws depending on your cradle

• I included spacers in the print to ensure that the mac studio can be removed from the desk more smoothly. Optional washers can be used for additionla clearance adjustment

Recommended Print Settings

• Material: PETG recommended (PLA+ also works)

• Wall loops: 5

• Infill: 25–30 percent gyroid

• Top and bottom thickness: approximately 1.6 mm

• Supports: none

• Print orientation: flat on the build plate

PETG is recommended for added toughness and heat resistance in under-desk environments.

Design Notes

This adapter was developed through hands-on iteration and test fitting to:

• Respect the original Printables mount design

• Solve Magnus Pro–specific mounting constraints

• Improve install-ability and serviceability

• Maintain strength at fastener zones while allowing necessary clearance
