Tractor knob - Has been designed with three functional aspects in consideration.
To quickly browse the top surface of the knob includes a finger dimple - placed on a concave angled surface. This allows extremely quick 360 degree rotation of the knob to quickly browse through long playlists.
To allow controlled selection at a low torque - 3 equi-angled finger grip 35% dimples are carved on the top edge. These allow holding the knob with two or three fingers to rotate the knob at a slower pace than what browsing dimple allows.
When operating in dark, to allow fine-grained control of the knob turns - a set of octagonal placed rubber grips on the bottom step allow a full grip with fingers sensing the gripped ribs. Rotating the knob provides sensory input about the number of turns made. This allows the DJ to continue scrolling without having to look at the knob at all.
The outer surface shape has been designed to allow the notification ambient light at the base of the knob to reflect and bounce back at the DJ - allows quick identification of tracks being loaded, to detect whether left-right tracks are in sync etc..
The shape also allows easy access to surrounding buttons and knobs without making it congested.

The author remixed this model.
The internal D structure is the only thing used from the original. It forms the base on top of which the knob is designed.
