This is Silent Night. Yes, that one. Except instead of being “calm and bright,” here it’s calm, bright, and quietly provocative. Translation: the nativity that makes more noise than your uncle after three glasses of grappa.

The figures? Silhouettes. No faces. No creepy ceramic eyes staring at you while you inhale yet another slice of panettone. Just sharp, clean, essential outlines. Hardcore minimalism.

The base isn’t passive—it made choices. Two slots. Because one would’ve been too easy, too boring:

  • Front: the nativity profile. Upright, composed, immobile. Playing the saint.

  • Back: the COB LED strip in blue, hidden, polite… but with enough power to scream: “Okay, now look at me, mortal.”

The backlight carves the outlines, adds depth, and makes everything look way more serious than a plastic nativity has any right to be. Serious like: “I’m judging your holiday diet.”

Checklist:

  • Slightly disturbed relatives ✔✔✔

🛠 Print Settings

  • Model height: ~8.5 cm

  • Total PLA: ~46 g (about the weight of a slice of panettone, but way less satisfying)

  • Print time: ~6 hours (if you color the text with an acrylic marker instead of multicolor printing, your printer stops crying and finishes faster)

  • Supports: none (like your patience when explaining why it’s blue)

  • Fuzzy skin: optional, but recommended at 0.15 on the base (velvety effect. Hand approves. Brain nods).

It’s still a nativity. It’s still “Silent Night.” But now it’s printed, lit up, and self‑aware. And if someone frowns… it’s probably because the light comes from behind and reveals things they didn’t want to see.

Merry Christmas. And remember: Jesus never asked to be printed in PLA, but if he could choose… he’d probably say “blue rocks.”
