Decking Board Spacers - 5mm Gap Tool

This model consists of cross-shaped and T-shaped spacers designed to maintain a uniform 5mm gap between wooden decking boards during installation. The geometry features vertical fins that fit between the planks to define the spacing and horizontal flanges that rest on the top surface, preventing the tool from falling through the gap. These spacers act as temporary guides to align boards before clamping and screwing them into place.

For optimal performance, it is recommended to print these parts using a durable material like PETG or ABS to withstand the compression forces applied during board clamping. A higher wall count and infill density are suggested to increase the rigidity and longevity of the tools. No supports are required if printed flat on the build plate.
