Proedge width limitation

Robert Sorbys Proedge sharpening system has a width limitation of 25mm when using the fingernail profile accessoires.

Crown hand tools flat roughing gauge 32mm

Crown Hand Tools Ltd. offer a flat 32mm roughing gauge, featuring a fingernail profile grind.

So, using the Robert Sorby Proedge sharpening system you get no chance to put fingernail profile grind on that roughing gauge. This is why I designed that little awkward holder.

Print

I used PETG, 25% gyroid infill, 4mm seam, 0,.25mm layer height. Components should already be aligned correctly.

Hardware

  • 1x M6 nut

  • 1x M6 knob / bolt (30mm should do)

Usage

Put the gauge in the holder as you would with the normal one from Robert Sorby. You then tighten the already tight fit with the pressure plate. The angle is set the usual way. Grind away!

Be careful around rotating things, melting plastique and flying sparks!
