I needed to cut a flat slot with an end mill on my drill press, but I did not have a proper XY sled and didn't want to buy one or wait for it to ship, so I threw this together in Fusion.
The "Bottom" part is what I bolted down to the drill press and the "Top" part is what I bolted to the vice. I made two versions of the "Top" part - one with the dovetails lengthwise and the other with them widthwise.
I have modeled a 0.2 tolerance on the dovetails of the "Top" parts. On my printer, the "Top" and "Bottom" parts mated perfectly without needing any post-processing.
Printed in PLA:
0.4mm nozzle
0.2mm layer height
15% gyroid infill
4 walls
3 top/bottom layers
It's strong enough for my shop use, but it may not be suited for heavier-duty tasks. Careful tightening down the bolts.
