I wanted an exhaust system through the window of the enclosure.

I am powering the fans via the USB port on the screen.

You will need the ad5x enclosure with the window.

-2 of 60x60x10mm fans (I bought the 2 usb one with speed control from amazon)

-8 m3 x 20mm screws

-3 inch vent tube.

-Patience (removing of the ptfe tubes and inserting them through the holes)

Files:

The exhaust system body is the part the attaches to the window (I printed this with no support on the side, but there were some stringy parts where there was an overhang). I used the 60mm fan cover from Nyxcode.

The exhaust system vent stacks on top of the system body. (support needed)

Have the screw hole on the build plate.

The 3 inch vent flange is screwed onto the system vent part. (no supports needed)

Installation: (suggestion)

  • I screwed in the fans in a certain orientation (refer to picture). You can use the M3 threaded inserts if you want, but I felt just screwing in the m3 screws directly was secure enough.

  • Took off the the entire ptfe 4-in-1 part from the IFS and the hot end.

  • Insert each ptfe tube one by one. I suggest doing the one closest to the side first. Make sure it is long enough to insert back into the IFS.

  • Reattach ptfe 4-in-1 back to hotend.

  • Snap in Exhaust body part into the window

  • Insert back ptfe to IFS

  • Screw vent flange into the vent part and stack on top.

  • Install 3 inch vent tube.

I printed in PETG and used the default settings in Orca-FlashForge.

I am currently working on a vent out part which will also use the screw on 3 inch vent flange, this should be done in the next 12 hours or so.

*update: I have uploaded the exhaust part here.
