Pretty happy with the Buddy3D Cams for my CORE Ones so I wanted to attach one to the Mk3.5S that lives in a LACK v2 enclosure.
This magnetic mount goes into the upper left corner of the enclosure (I guess right corner should work too). It uses magnets to attach the camera instead of screws, so the camera can be easily removed for maintenance.
STEP file included.
Four 10x6x2 magnets —I reused spare magnets I had left over from various Prusa printer builds
Acrylic glue
I used PETG. Needs supports. See 3mf file for orientation and suggested settings.
Make sure the magnets are properly oriented to attract, not repel, the magnets inside the camera!!! Just put them on the outside of the camera, then grab them in that orientation and slide them into the slots of the mount. See photo. I oriented the magnets so their long sides run parallel to the outside edge of the slots.
In my first design attempt I tried to find a way to affix the mount to the enclosure with screws but gave up. I ended up using regular acrylic glue to permanently attach the mount. Put glue on the top tab, plus the two sides of the small triangle protrusion. See photo. Hold for 30 seconds in place, then let dry completely before attaching the camera.
