This model is a parametrically sized section of reed for a floor loom. It was designed for o 36" Leclerc, but may work with other looms. The design is intended to be printed in multiple sections, extending to the required size. Note that the design is not symmetric: when multiple sections are combined, there will be an additional dent between them so that spacing is even.
I have printed this in 4", 5", and 6" sections, at 10 dents per inch. It may be scalable to other sizes and pitches: I'll update this if those work for me. Unfortunately, Printables doesn't support direct uploads of Python scripts or Jupyter notebooks; the included zip file is simply a Jupyter notebook that generates the model. It should work with any recent version of CadQuery.
I would like to acknowledge the previous owners of our floor loom, whoever they were, who appear to have made a similar model and in doing so inspired me to make this.
For CC-BY-SA, I consider the attribution and share-alike requirement to apply to the code and models, not to physical, printed products or any items made using them. Also, it is currently a bit unclear how my models should be categorized with regards to AI. As the current AI checkbox results in an "AI generated" tag, I'm not marking this as such. The STL here is not AI generated, and I do actually use this model; however, this is a code-generated STL, and the code here was written (though not vibe-coded) in Cursor.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
