Replacement battery holder for Trend air shield pro

My original Trend Air Shield had niCad battery with a short lifespan and long charging time. I made this adapter to use readily available Ni-Mh AA batteries. The Ni-Mh batteries and chargers are inexpensive and have a similar voltage. NOTE the Trend Air Shield has an internal battery change circuit that should not be used with Ni-Mh batteries, so tape over that connection. Otherwise this is a direct battery replacement that still utilizes the low voltage warning buzzer.     The AA battery holder is a 3 cell version ordered on line. It fits within this adapter shell. I made the external contacts out of flattened copper wire that fit through holes in the adapter shell.  You may have to enlarge the holes for larger diameter wire. Note the proper battery polarity when connecting the battery holder to the external contacts. Finally, glue the battery adapter to cup side of the adapter.  The final results is longer battery life and an external AA charger for the backup batteries.
