I really liked the Prusa Core One Feet v2 by Prusa Guy, but I printed the solid version without the internal TPU insert slot and later changed my mind about wanting vibration dampening.

Instead of reprinting the entire feet, I designed these TPU dampener "socks" that slip over the solid feet from the outside. The foot slides into the dampener through a top opening, and the TPU construction absorbs vibrations just like the insert version - but without needing to reprint anything!

Think of it as a slip-on dampener solution for those who already have the solid feet printed.

Features

✅ Works with solid version of Prusa Core One Feet v2
✅ No need to reprint feet - just add the TPU sock
✅ Effective vibration dampening through flexible zone design
✅ Easy snap-on installation - stays secure but removable
✅ Saves material and time compared to reprinting

Print Settings

  • Material: TPU 96 (I used Filament PM TPU 96 - Shore A 88 hardness)

  • Nozzle: 0.4mm

  • Layer Height: 0.20mm

  • Perimeters/Walls: 2

  • Bottom Layers: 5

  • Top Layers: 3

  • Infill: 6% GyroidIMPORTANT!

  • Supports: None needed

⚠ Settings Matter

Low 6% Infill - The Key to Dampening

The low 6% infill creates a flexible compression zone inside the dampener, which is crucial for proper vibration absorption. This sparse infill allows the TPU to compress and spring back effectively under the printer's weight.

2 Perimeters - Structural Integrity

2 perimeters provide enough strength to prevent the sock from collapsing under the printer's weight in the low-infill area, while still maintaining flexibility.

For softer TPU materials: Consider adding 1-2 more perimeters (3-4 total) to prevent deformation.

Top/Bottom Layers - Keep Them Moderate

Don't overdo top and bottom layers! Keep them at 3-5 layers to ensure there's enough internal space for the sparse infill zone. Too many solid layers will reduce the flexible compression area and diminish dampening effectiveness.

Fit & Installation

The dampener is designed as a snap-on fit:

  • Easy to slide onto the foot

  • Stays securely in place - won't fall off during use

  • Not permanently attached - removable if needed

  • No glue required

Note: This fit works perfectly with my printer's tolerances. Due to printer-to-printer variations, you may need minor scaling adjustments (try 99-101%) if the fit is too tight or too loose.
