This Minecraft Lantern inspired model brings cozy pixely warmth to every home.
Never use real tealights, candles or other burning materials with this model. Best case they're starved of oxygen, worst case your home burns down. Only use electrical tealights/candles!
electrical tealight with 37.75mm diameter (can be adjusted via parameter in the STEP file)
Optional: sandpaper or file (depending on your printer)
Material: PLA (I used PETG for the frame and PLA for the panes)
Layer Height: 0,2mm
Infill: 10-15%
Fill Pattern: Gyroid
Support not needed
Optional: Sand the top holes and pegs if needed to ensure a friction fit without getting stuck
tip: drawing with a lead pencil on the pegs leaves a bit of carbon as residue which can act as lube
Add your electrical tealight or candle
Slide in the panes
you can decide if you want the layering to face out or in, both works fine
Put on the top part, making sure not to cant it
if the fit is too snug, you can carefully wiggle it free
note: if your need to open it, always go slowly, peg by peg and apply counter pressure to the peg you're currently wiggling to avoid it snapping off
if a peg snaps off, you can glue it on with superglue
Enjoy your cozy lantern!
No Blåhaj were harmed in the making of this decor object.
The author remixed this model.
I only used the model and mechanic as inspiration and recreated the whole model in a parametric design with variables and multiple iterations to make sure the planes fit the model perfectly. Only one variable must be changed to change the whole model, making adjusting very easy.
