This is a simple grip fit for the usual Hako 60W type soldering irons. It is used after the iron has been switched off/unplugged to allow it to both cool down and be safely stored, protecting the tip. It has venting holes at the end to allow the iron to continue to cool down.
I printed mine out of PLA+, using 3 walls at 0.2mm. It has been fine and not distorted at all.
It is deliberately a snug fit for the rubber grip on these irons to enable the cover to stay in place, whilst still being easy to remove when required.
