This Lego styled model is a super fun and nostalgic way to pot your plants. It features a twist locking overflow tray- simply line up the knobs push it in and twist right- for watering your plants without fear of over-watering them. The twist locking feature for the tray easily allows you to pick up the pot and move it to the sink for watering without accidentally dropping the tray and spilling out the dirt and water - I've never done that before ;)
If you'd like to make this pot self-watering all you have to do is put some knotted twine or other absorbent material though some of the drain holes and the excess water in the pan should soak up the twine into the dirt and to the plant's roots through capillarity.
I made this pot after buying a succulent and wanting to plant it into a Lego minifigure head-styled pot. I jumped onto printables and searched for one- with no results. I thought for sure there would be some pot out there like this, so I tried again with different keywords, but I still came up empty. "This is a great opportunity!" I said to myself, "I can't believe nobody has made one yet!" So, I got to work. Now, no longer will anybody have the same problem.
I recommend setting the number of walls to 2 in the slicer settings as the pot has an inside and outside wall making it plenty strong enough with just 2, and it helps cut back on material usage a bit.
I hope you enjoy the model, if you do print one, I would really appreciate if you uploaded a make. I'd love to hear from you. Feel free to comment on anything you think needs tweaking and any problems you had and I will fix them as soon as possible.
Have fun printing!
