This is a 17 mm spacer to allow better hand clearance with a flat (non-dished) wheel when using the Fanatec Podium Button Module Endurance (PBME), Podium Advanced Paddle Module (PAPM) and the Podium Hub.

This is not tested with 3rd party equivalents.  I used a user-created CAD model for the hub plus tolerance to make the hub lug recesses.  This works with my Fanatec Podium Hub.

Print Settings:

Just about anything will work.  I used:

  • Prusa Core One, stock 0.4 mm HF nozzle

  • eSun PLA+

  • Prusa Core One generic PLA profile

  • Prusa Core One 0.20 SPEED preset

  • 15% infill

Note that in my testing, 17 mm is the maximum thickness that will still work with the stock USB-C cable on the PBME.  If you choose to scale this to be thicker, you will have to work out a solution to extend the cable (short extension, 90 degree adapter, etc.)

You will need longer bolts to attach the rim.  The stock bolts are countersunk M5 x 25.   My rim (Simube GT3 Endurance - Forged Carbon) is 5mm thick and I used M5 x 45 bolts with this spacer.  Ensure that the bolt you choose gives the same (or slightly more) thread engagement as stock but isn't so long that it damages the Hub.

Two versions are included, both provide the same spacing.

Version 1 - simple spacer

  • There is a dot to indicate UP but it doesn't matter for this version.

  • images show fuzzy skin on perimeter, this is a slicer setting and not part of the STL.

Version 2 - recesses for hub lugs since lining things up during assembly goes easier

  • Note the position of “UP”.  The Podium Hub lugs are not symmetrical.

  • The recessed pockets are designed to fit over the Podium Hub lugs with a tiny bit of play.

  • This version is intentionally larger diameter than the other to give reinforcement to the recessed parts.  As such, note the flat opposite of “UP” that must be on the bottom in order to fit in the PBME.
