Well…looks like one of Santa's Little Helpers has decided to branch out on his own with a little Side Hustle Action! Something about being 'Tired of doing all the work while somebody else gets all the credit…’

So…here's your chance to support all the ‘little guys’ out there that work tirelessly each year behind the scenes making your holiday special! A Candy Bowl/Dish in the shape of an Elf! Could be Buddy…Could be Jingle or maybe even Jangle! Might be Hermey still trying to achieve his dream of finally becoming a Dentist!! (Bragging Rights and a Candy Cane to whoever lists all 3 movies in the comments section!)

Designed specifically for single color printers with each color as its own part. Just a little bit of assembly and a touch of glue turns seven plastic pieces into one Elfin' Cool Holiday Decoration! Elf Shoes and Boot Ruffles are keyed to the pants bottom (belly) and each subsequent ring has an alignment guide to help keep things straight. Buckle has a distinct spot on the belt as well. Stands approximately 109mm tall and about 150mm wide. There are small recessed locations on the bottom of the shoes to allow you to add 10mm rubber stick-on feet so the bowl doesn't slide easily on smooth surfaces.

A few quick notes:

  • This is specifically designed to be printed in pieces. The red accent parts are free-floating when assembled so there isn't a full STL file of the entire model included. If somebody needs different please let me know.

  • I'm a fan of printing with supports and using textured build plates to polish the final output. Of course, I'm relatively new to 3D printing so your experience level and the printer you're using will make a difference I'm sure. Here are my recommendations when printing each part based on my own experience.

    • Top Ruffles and Boot Ruffles - Print these top down so you don't need supports and the top of the bowl will be smooth or textured based on your build plate.

    • Pants Top and Belt: No real preference here. There is a groove on the bottom and an alignment ring on the top. Either way I recommend at least some support to ensure an accurate result but YMMV.

    • Pants Bottom (Bowl): I've printed it right side up and upside down with standard supports and tree supports. Works either way but you may get cleaner pant legs printing upside down but that's the bottom of the bowl so you may not care.

    • Elf Shoes: These should probably be printed right side up. I used tree supports on the build plate only and the toe curls are very easy to print that way and remove the supports. I also used 10% in-fill to save a little time and filament instead of the default 15% my slicer uses.

    • Belt Buckle: This one can go either way. It just depends on the level of detail you're after. Buckle up and alignment pins down with supports is the cleanest but again YMMV based on you.

Be sure to also check out the Santa Belly Version here on Printables.com!

If you print a Santa Bowl Full Size and scale the Elf Bowl to about 78% (makes it 85mm tall) you can recreate Santa's Workshop in full candy bowl glory! You can also make individual bowls for each of the Elves in Your Home by printing the Top and Boot Ruffle pieces in different colors (white, yellow, pink, blue etc)!

As always, please upload a quick pic if you print one (or 10). I would love to see them out in the wild filled with whatever ends up being your treat choice this year! Thanks for looking and Happy Printing!
