For assembly, use a mask and eye protection rated for the hazards and use products as they direct. See license for disclaimer.

Originally printed in Hatchbox “Copper” PETG it looked like something brown and unwanted…

  • Superglue worked fine for me for assembly (Bob Smith Industries with accelerator spray).
  • Added more glue around the seam, sprayed more accelerator, then waited for it to cure.
  • Used a Dremel rotary tool to grind down the bumps. Repeated previous step and this step.
  • Painted with Plasti-kote Metallics spray paint (brass color version)
  • Insert the mouthpiece (certain other trumpet mouthpieces may work--let me know in your Make description please).  I included a copy of the mouthpiece from LtDan's Printable Trumpet (See “Original models used in this remix” but it is unmodified.

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

  • Compatible with mouthpiece from LtDan Printable Trumpet
  • Split (max 173mm) for printing on average 3D printers
    • If still not small enough, try printing diagonally:
      • mouthpiece end is 149x167x173 at 45 degrees
      • bell end is 111x167x167 at 45 degrees
  • Mouthpiece adapter with neater geometry (a machined look)
  • Alignment pegs for assembly (They are built-in, so they are tilted to allow printing without supports. Clean them up after printing if they don't allow the body to line up)
