Enjoy an epic Star Trek The Next Generation era version of Catan that combines elements of 6-player and seafarers. This project builds upon and remixes my previous project on The Original Series era Star Trek Interstellar-farers expansion conversion. Play one of the major factions: Federation, Klingons, Romulans, Cardassians, Dominion, or the Borg.

NOTE: this page will feature mostly links to models I already released or other people's models I used for game pieces, especially the ships. Models for the core board layout are included here. I hope you enjoy the graphics, my concepts, and the photo makes.

Expansion Conversion Instructions:

  1. ✨🌐HEX TILES: First of all you will need more tiles., Print a whole bunch of black hex tiles and paste printed photos of the planets.  Alternatively I found it convenient to order on eBay another two set of tiles.
  2. 🌎🪐EARTH/LATINUM PLANETS: Four 3Dprinted hex tiles for four Earth planets (which are the traditional Catan Gold tiles) these can give you resource choice as per Catan Seafarers rules. I had some fun and gave this Earth gold-press latinium rings for flair. A model you can print in gold color is also provided.
  3. 📐CORNERS: Print the provided model of two special corner-end pieces, I decorated them with comet graphics. Two versions are available to print.
  4. 📏EDGE EXTENSIONS: models of single/double/triple border extensions are provided.
  5. 🌀WORMHOLE: A novel concept is the usage of an optional Wormhole where ships/roads can traverse to the other-side as long as they are adjacent to it. The smaller wormhole from this model link can be employed, some scaling might be needed:
  6. ⚖TRADING STATIONS: You can you use my starbase model link here:
  7. 🛣ROADS: For the equivalent of Catan Roads, the following Planetary Starship models can be used:
  8. 🛸PLANETARY ROBBER: I thought it appropriate to use a renegade Ferengi ship:
  9. ☠SPACE PIRATE: You have flexibility here to choose your favorite non-major alien race ship, I decided to use a renegade Kazon Raider:
  10. 🏛🚩OUTPOSTS and STAR-BASES:  For the single and double victory point build points each major faction has their own outpost/base style:
  11. 🚀DEEP SPACE STARSHIPS: Now this is the fun part, I personally went all out and printed different ship classes instead of printing the same ships 15 times, but that was probably overdoing it. It's too much to list here models or links to all these 70+ individual ship models. I provide here a partial list where you can find some of the models. You can always reach out to me if there is a model pictured you are interested in:

Printing Tips:

  • The board tiles/border models posted here print easy with no supports. You can use larger nozzle and layer height to speed up their printing.
  • Most of small ships I used 0.3mm Nozzle with 0.12mm layer height to get the best detail.
  • I employed strategic use of horizontal expansion (XY size compensation) to bulk up the ships for better printing.
  • I also usually printed the small ships vertically and with a brim.

Happy Catan Trekking!!!  💫
