Overview

A remix of rykb's Matcha59 I redesigned the case based off of the plate. This case has a slight angle and is deeper to allow for easier cable management. I also created the firmware needed to run this (fair warning, this is my first time making the firmware so it's a bit of a mess). You will need QMK to flash the firmware. The keyboard's design is based off the Preonic layout.

Printed on MK3S at 0.2 layer height and brim in Prusa PLA Silver. No supports, make sure to have the bottom correctly set on the build plate.

What you will need in addition to the list on rykb's mathca59 guide:

  • 4 M3x10mm Standoffs and 4 corresponding flush screws
  • Elite C is what I used for the MCU
  • Optional: Amoeba PCBs to make hand-wiring easier

TODO: Center the USB cutout (currently it's slightly off-center, sorry!)

Build Guide

Details will be explained looking at the plate with the switch pins facing up/keycaps facing down, encoder on the bottom (like in the pictures)

The encoder has 5 prongs, 3 on the top and 2 on the bottom. The bottom one is for the press and needs a diode wired to the left leg, which connects into the bottom row. The right leg is wired to the column.

The top 3 prongs are encoder left, ground, encoder right. The right goes to F6 and left goes to F7 pins on the Elite C, while ground goes to ground on the Elite C.

I wired the columns on the top and the rows on the left. Below are the corresponding pins to wires for the Elite C. You can also change these in the keyboard firmware. Otherwise, you need to use these pins in order for the firmware to work.
