This is an improved latch for the PolyDryer by Polymaker, replacing the original snap-fit latch with a smoother draw latch mechanism. The stock latch relies on a hard “snap” to keep the lid closed, which makes it loud to close and hard to open.

This draw latch hooks over the existing plastic tab and is pulled up to close. The grooved, springy lower section captures the tab and provides the closing tension in the latch instead of relying on a hard snap.
Required Parts
In addition to the printed parts, two M3x20 screws and two M3x30 screws are required per latch.
Step 1: Remove the original latches and install the hinge adapters
Carefully remove the stock latches from the PolyDryer (do this at your own risk and take care not to crack the plastic). Mount the two hinge adapters in place of the original latches. These also act as spacers to prevent the M3 screws from damaging the lid's plastic.
Step 2: Mount the latch
Position the upper latch part between the installed hinge adapters and fix it with two M3×20 screws. Only tighten them slightly so the latch can still rotate smoothly.
Step 3: Assemble the latch
Screw the lower part of the latch to the upper part using two M3×30 screws.
Material: PETG
Layer height: 0.15 mm
Infill: 15%
Version 2: Completely redesigned the latch to have one solid face and make one handed operation easier. Also every part can now be printed with just 15% infill.
