Dual split shaft collars are mechanical clamps used to secure components—like bearings, pulleys, or gears—onto a shaft.

This 3D printed double split shaft collar utilizes m3 nuts and screws (m3x12) (https://amzn.to/435tkve, aff.) for reliable rotation. The two splits are both 3D printed. The original model is designed for a 20cm x 20cm square shaft. Feel free to modify the parametric Fusion design file or just DM me for help.

Print settings:

Supports: No

Brim: No

Additional Settings: PETG (any rigid material is fine), 3 perimeters, 15% infill, 0.2mm layer height

  • 3 perimeters is semi-solid
    • You can make it weaker, but since the part is overall pretty small, I found that to be unnecessary.

Of course, this is a 3D printed shaft collar is intended for minimal load/speeds. It is intended for prototypes and proof-of-concepts. So please don't put it in a transmission system of a car or Spaceship ;)

An additional improvement is the “ring” visible on the shaft collar - this prevents & reduces shrinkage, and it also saves material. And I also think it just looks cool.

And here is the YT video (shameless plug)
