I designed the canopy to fit my OMP M2 Mk2 with the front access battery hole as small as possible.

I like to paint the top half of my canopies fluorescent red (with a rattle can) for orientation, so I also designed the canopy in two halves (no masking required). If you choose the Duo option, then to glue them together, start at the front tacking them together with a blob of thin super glue working backwards. When you are happy with the fit, run round the whole joint inside with the glue.

At first I used a small battery extension lead (the spacer lifts the plug up so the battery can slide in). After a while, I realised I could plug the battery in directly by making sure the battery wire is bent in the right direction and looking through the triangle windows, push the plug home with my finger.

I have printed the canopy in different orientations (face up & face down) but both have drawbacks.

As the sidewalls are thin, supports are important.

My painted finished canopies come out at about 27g.

Painting Tip. If you want to paint the canopy a fluorescent colour, then white filament must be used. Roughen up the surface with some 250 wet and dry, then paint directly on the plastic. Start with a mist coat, then when it's still tacky, spray a thicker coat, again when it's drying but still tacky, paint again until the colour looks solid.

The fin is just a less pointy design.

Happy Flying.
