Semi-Smart Advanced is a minimally invasive upgrade, which can be done on ALL Semi-Smart boards available to date. It just replaces the smaller OLED for a new, larger one, and the classic arduino nano with the stronger Arduino Nano R4. This not only brings about 8 times the storage and 16 times the power for firmware, but also allows for more complex calculations and communication, and a very exciting menu-based navigation structure!.
Advanced brings several big improvements to Semi-Smart
The new SSH1107 OLED display offers
56% larger display size allows for the visualisation of much more data
twice as much pixels gives more details in text and menus
The new Arduino R4 offers;
16 times the memory compared to the classic Nano
4 times as high clock speed
8 times as much storage in the eeprom and Flash memory
This allows the firmware to include;
A whole new menu-based structure
Automatic PID tuning of the heater
New heating state visualisation
Saving of Filament heating presets
LED strip control directly thru the display
A whole on-screen settings menu to adjust heating parameters
A vastly more complex safety system
More intuitive navigation with press & hold navigation
Full sensor readouts
Fine-Tuning of the Fans and cycle periods
Languages selection
Ofcourse the setup still retains;
Controlled filament chamber heating with targeted humidity and temperature levels (switchable via buttons on COREBOXX, gcode or printer display)
Gcode controlled RGB led lighting
3 spare Prusa GPIO/ hackerboard pins
MMU easy-disconnect port
Easy to connect, no soldering required
Safe heating and temperature monitoring with double fuse system
As said, the upgrade is minimally invasive, just;
3D print;
- A new version of the Heater and HMI
Purchase;
- Arduino Nano R4
- SSH1107 display
- KSD9700 16A 70C
