Tripod Plate for Camera - Vinten/3AS/5AS

A tripod plate that can be used with tripod heads like Vinten, some Sachtler, Neewer, and more. This is meant to be a temporary replacement, or emergency backup. Do not use this as a replacement. Nothing will replace a fully metal camera plate. This will work out great in a pinch. It's best use would be an interview lock-off, without too much movement. It's pretty sturdy. I've tested it, lifted a heavy tripod (Vinten 100) twisted it, yanked it, dropped it, and many other tests and found it quite difficult to even crack.

My recommendations.

• Filament: PLA, or PETG if going to be used outside in a hot environment. PLA is going to be stronger for it's uses though. Anything stronger like CF, etc will work fine.
• Use the smallest layer you can. The smaller the layers, the stronger the result, with diminishing returns of course.
• 30% Infill minimum. I've tested with 5, 20, 50, and 100. No discernable difference between 50 and 100%.
• Do not bother with curing it in an oven to make it stronger. The tolerances are very low and even a little bit of warping might make this print useless, and won't fit.
• Depending on your filament, it might slip. Use a rubber washer for the screw. Use tape for the side that touches the camera to make sure it doesn't slide.
• If it's a loose fit, then use something like painters tape on the top or bottom.
• There should be a 2% tolerance window if it's too big or small, it all depends on your printer.

I do not take responsibility for any damages caused by using this print. This should NEVER be used as a full replacement, or for cameras that weigh more than 20 lbs. GCODE isn't perfect.
