Outdoor Light Mounting Box with Hidden Cable Channel (False Back Design)

This custom junction box was designed to improve the look of outdoor wall lights that require bottom cable entry.

This light fixture from Biltema (Artnr. 46-3504 and 46-3505) come with a flat mounting base, acting as a junction box and mount. When the power cable must enter from below (as required outdoors), the result is usually an ugly visible conduit or loop of cable on the wall.

This model solves that problem by adding a false back with a hidden cable channel behind the box. The incoming cable makes a neat U-turn behind the mounting plate, completely concealed from view once the fixture is mounted.
