I got one of these little beasties nice and cheap, was suitably impressed with the way it works given its age but the hotend cooling was lacklustre, it had no part cooling, and the extruder motor got really hot.

This replaces the stock fan with a 5015 blower fan for more airflow, with the exhaust directed at the print and being pushed out past the extruder gear. The stock fan is then used to push more air over the extruder motor to help keep that cooler (i added a small heatsink to the back of the motor later for even better cooling).

Best printed in something sturdy and heat resistant due to the direct mounting to the extruder, ABS should be fine but i used ASA. Modular for easy printing and assembly/disassembly, a little support needed for printing on both of the fan mounts.

You'll need a few m3 heat set inserts, some m3 screws (i cant remember lengths sorry), and a 12v 5015 blower fan.

The setup previously couldn't print PLA due to heat creep, now printing fine. I've also tested with ABS a couple of times with excellent results despite the part fan not being able to be turned off.
