I've seen some TPU ways covers done around on the internet before, but they were being printed with PLA supports; requiring either a Bambulabs HD2 printer with dual printheads, or a toolchanger printer, etc.

I looked at all kinds of accordion prints, and didn't find anything just right. Most are printed in the expanded shape of the object; printing them folded gives you much more area coverage and great springback as the ways cover collapses.

These were designed to print the “skin” in 1 layer, using Arachne generators, on 0.4mm nozzle. Surprisingly strong! i mean like you can YANK on this and it won't tear.

After a few tries, this accordion style ways cover works great; no supports, no drilling the frame, though of course, YMMV. Go nuts and remix to fit what you need.

(i will try to remember to upload an actual photo at some point)

Parts:

TPU - I used 95A by Overture, i don't think it matters much

bar magnets - in this case 4 x 60mm*10mm*3mm Neodidlium magnets of amazon.. they slip right into the ends and stay put just fine.

Instructions:

Do make sure to print with the edges down; i'm not 100% certain but i'm pretty sure that this greatly increases the strength when pulling.

After printing, slide the magnets into the ends, and slap onto some ways you want to cover and protect!

Sometimes when printing, the edges may stick together a little bit. It's super satisfying yanking them apart the first time… ziiiiiiip.
