Relive your childhood desktop nostalgia! This project transforms the iconic look of the classic MS Paint interface into a fully functional and highly satisfying sticky note holder. Even better, key components double as a unique fidget toy!
This design has been meticulously broken down into parts optimized for single-color FDM printers utilizing manual filament swaps for a stunning multi-color effect.
Nozzle: 0.4mm
Layer Height: 0.2mm (Variable Layer Height recommended in slicer for cleaner color pulsing/swaps).
Aesthetic Detail: All text elements are designed one block (pixel) at a time to perfectly replicate the look of vintage pixel fonts.
The design requires 4 main printed parts. The Base is the centerpiece, demanding 7 precise color changes to achieve the authentic Paint look.
| Part | Supports Needed? | Color Scheme Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Rails (x2) | No | Print in two different shades of Grey for visual depth. Snug fit—check tolerances. |
| Checker Board Background | No | Use White base with a Light Grey filament pulse on the final 1-2 layers. Holds the sticky note pad securely. |
| Clicker Plate | Yes (Tree Supports) | Print in White with a Black pulse for the last few layers. May need slight calibration. |
| Base | No | 7 Color Changes required to map the interface elements (see detailed order below). |
