Original Thingiverse model with pre-defined hex cutouts modified as follows:

  • front region made solid with modifier
  • thinned to 2mm with modifier
  • set to no top/bottom infill with modifier
  • infill set to grid @50% using modifier (honeycomb@ 40% OK too)
  • split into 3 parts with dowel connectors

Ignore the 3DViewer as it has a bug for this type of project and renders all modifiers as solids.
