I tried several versions of the internal filter box for the Qidi Plus 4 where I also could include a HEPA filter. None of them really suited my need, so I made my own.
The box and lid prints without support. I recommend using ABS or ASA due to the hot environment inside the chamber.
Print the box and lid, and fill the box with proper carbon suited for 3D printers, and click the lid in place.
The Lid has a very tight fit, and takes some force to click in place. It is easy to remove for changing carbon, but it stays properly seated after it clicks in place. If the fit is a bit too tight, the idea is you can sand down the tabs on one side for easier fitting. It does not take a lot of sanding, a pass or two and it clicks in place easier. This is by design as the lid is on the underside of the filter box, and I dont want it to open unintenionaly.
The filter box is made to fit over a HEPA filter, as shown in the pictures. I use these from Amazon
NOTE: Make sure you use the right type of carbon. In this filter I use a mix of Nevermore printer carbon and Nevermore Scorch S (performs better the higher the temperature).
