Saia Burgess make small actuators that are commonly fitted to Mercedes (and others) to automate climate control in their cars.

These connectors are designed to be fitted swiftly and so they do not vibrate free. However this means you have to have tiny fingures and two hands to separate the connector.

When the connecter is in an inaccessible place (the air blend actuator on a right hand drive model 204 requires 10 hours of disassembly to access) it is extremely hard to get two hands to he connector to disconnect it.

These two devices enable one to “unlock” the connector and remove it with one hand or pliers.

To remove by hand use the simple clip release.

position the circle under the bar on the connector. see photo.

squeeze until the clip clicks into place. Photo

pull the connector away from the housing. Photo

To remove with a pair of tapered pliers: print the Mk5 stl

attach the mk5 for tapered plier release clip to the pliers first.

again push the circle under the bar on the connector as above.

squeeze the pliers and grip the connector. the spigot holders will deform. (It doesn't really matter if they break at this point.)

pull the connector away from the housing.

(if the clip doesnt fit your pliers, you need to download the SCAD files “cylinderPN” and “ratchettooth” with “MK5” and change the diameter of the tapered channels.)
