This simple part was designed to terminate a bungee cord used in pole vault practice so that the cord would come loose before the cord breaks.  The rubbing surfaces are designed to be smooth and rounded to minimize wear on the elastic cord.

Previously, we tied a knot in the end of the cord.  But when stretched too far, the cord breaks, thus requiring another knot to repair it.

I designed the terminator for the “Nydotd Natural Latex Rubber Band, 16.4ft / 5m, 6x9mm Rubber Tube Tubing for Slingshot Catapult Elastic Parts Rocket Outdoor Hunting, Yellow” found on Amazon. (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DL6JJZ2)  This bungee stretches the full 13' length between uprights at half the length and stretches down to the mat from 13'.  In other words, I made two of these out of the 16.4' length purchased by cutting it in half.

First, insert the bungee cord into the middle hole.  Then loop it back to an outer hole.  Then insert the end in to the third hole so that the end is flush with the part surface.  This seems to be optimal for allowing the cord to release before breaking.
