Floor lamp safety hook

Floor lamps are inexpensive and popular, but they tend to have a high center of gravity, which makes them easy targets for pets and children. After a few accidents with the expected results (broken bulbs, lamp shades, etc), I decided to create a simple hook to attach them to the wall.

The hook has a floor lamp post to wall distance of 170mm. This seems to be the most common distance on the floor lamps in my house, with 10mm of slack. Post thickness is set to 16mm. Feel free to request different measurements if this model does not fit your specific lamp post.

Attach it to the wall using flat head #8 screws (the hole is countersunk) or adhesive strips.
