NOTE. YOU WILL NEED TO ROUTE THE PROVIDED QIDI BOX PTFE TUBING THROUGH THE HOLE NEXT TO THE RUBBER WHERE IT WAS PREVIOUSLY ROUTED PRIOR TO INSTALLATION, I HAVE BEEN USING IT THIS WAY FOR A MONTH OR SO NOW WITH NO ISSUES.
A simple riser/shelf for the Qidi Box for the Q2.
I have extra connection points on the top of the shelf for the possibility of more attachments down the line and I will include the step file if you'd like to make additional attachments or changes yourself.
Instructions
You will need supports on all parts except the platform; especially around the pegs of the shelf.
I recommend you print in PETG or better for the riser itself. The shelf parts can be PLA or anything you have lying around (I would recommend something rigid!). The platform itself should be printed as strong as you possibly can to prevent flexing, so I'd recommend a higher than standard infill and more walls than standard (I didn't do this personally which is why you see a slight amount of bowing with 10kg of filament on it!)
Optional: You may opt to use glue in the connections points for a more solid bond but I have not done so. If you would not like to use the glass retaining clips you really don't need them as the platform prevents the glass panel from tipping off; especially if you have weight on it. Should work with M3 screws of various types; and lengths if you choose to use them.(8-28mm)
Credit to @SunnyBarlow_1764604 for uploading the base of this project! Saved me a lot of time personally and shows great community spirit!
PS. If you have a box and printed this let me know how it looks! By what I can find online the platform is larger than the box length wise so you may be able to also put a single roll filament dryer on top WITH a box!
CHANGES
V1.3.1 (Possibly final)
Changed tolerances on vent and beefed up the tab
Reoriented models so they will import in the correct orientation.
Fixed dimensional issues with interlocking tabs with the platform.
Uploaded updated STEP file for additional modification (Yes my sketches and parts are a mess, I'm a self taught novice at this kind of thing). This has a shelf addition added to the top that I personally didn't want to use or test before releasing as I didn't need the extra storage.
V1.3
Extended left and right platform pieces to better support the middle section to attempt to fix flexing of the platform under load.
Changed platform geometry to use both less material and improve aesthetics.
Scaled down the vent blockers to slightly improve fit; were slightly too tight before.
Removed 2 pegs from the spool holder and reduced footprint; broke these off on accident but the spool holder was just as sturdy.
V1.2-
Added vents to the front of the riser alike other designs. This will be optional for now as I continue to test them; if you would not like to use this version feel free to download the unvented front left and right riser parts.
V1.1.2-
Added additional pegs to the X-Axis of the riser to help alleviate flexing under load as well as make it easier to assemble correctly without confusion.
V1.1.1-
Added pegs to connect the riser section to alleviate flexing under load; previously had a piece of electrical tape that I forgot about from my original riser that prevented the issue but wasn't perfectly secure or documented.
V1.1-
Added slots in the riser to allow the platform the be reversed and moved to the front for easier access.
Changed left and right platform parts to better fit the reversible nature and made them more uniform.
Added an optional top mount spool holder attachment using the original stock Q2 spool holder insert, I currently don't have a box to know for sure but the intention is that the spool holder attachment point will sit just below the box.
Reduced thickness of the riser to save on material.
The author remixed this model.
Added riser for the Qidi Box as well as added press in slots to attach it. Removed slots for insulating tape and removed openings in the riser. Changed the glass lock tab to use M3 hardware with no heatset insert.
