Compact Laser Fume Filter with Activated Carbon


A compact active carbon air filter designed specifically for diode laser engravers and small enclosures.

It efficiently removes smoke and odors generated during engraving or cutting, keeping your workspace clean and safe to breathe.


Features

  • Dual-stage filtration system:
    1. 40 mm thick activated carbon granulate layer (Ø4 mm pellets)
    2. HMF active carbon foam on the exhaust side
       
  • Push-pull ventilation setup: one 80 mm fan pushes air from the laser enclosure, two 80 mm fans pull filtered air through the carbon bed
  • Sealed airflow path to prevent leaks and maintain efficiency
  • Frame: printed PLA structure with replaceable 3 mm laser cut plywood, acrylic or printed side panels
  • Low noise level and easy access for carbon refill
  • Compatible with 80 mm flexible ventilation ducts (standard aluminum or PVC hoses)

  • Power: 5 V (USB powered)
  • Materials: PLA + 3 mm plywood + 2mm acrylic, m3 bolts and heat inserts 
  • Use adhesive foam to seal the panels

Notes

Printed the main part oriented with fan side downwards and using tree supports.

Tested with Acmer P2 33W laser engraver.

Performs excellently with typical diode laser enclosure, effectively reducing smoke and acrylic or wood odor.
