This marking jig makes easy work of marking the mounting holes for the Closet Pro HD or Everbilt Heavy Duty Closet Pole Sockets for 1 5/16" rods. All you need is the center of the rod mark with a vertical line and a horizontal line and you can mark the holes for the screws.

Use

The closed socket uses the top set and the bottom center holes. The Open “U” socket uses the the three bottom holes. This is obvious if you line up the marking jig with a socket you intend to mount.

  1. Mark a vertical line for the center of the rod - e.g. 12" from the back of a closet

  2. Mark a horizontal line for the center of the rod - e.g. 2.5 to 3" from the top/shelf above the rod

  3. Line up the marking jig

  4. Mark the holes for the appropriate socket with a fine tip pencil/pen

  5. Remove jig and line up socket holes on your marks and fasten (can pre drill marks too if you prefer).
