Updates

• 2023/04: Improved tolerances on the housing and made the fit a little more forgiving, as some users reported difficulties getting the housing in place (v2.1). This version also includes improved cable clips. Drawer version v2 fits both, housing v2 and housing v2.1.
• 2022/03: Added version without cable management / clips. This version is also available as MIRRORED version for the left side of the printer, in case you moved your electronics somewhere else (untested, feedback welcome).

Description

A compact tool drawer / toolbox for the Creality Ender 3 Pro with a clean and simple design. The drawer sits flush with the front of the printer and with the 4040 base profiles. This creates a symmetrical look when using the default electronics enclosure.

Advantages:

• No additional parts required
• Integrated cable management for the stock display cable ("regular version" only)
• Does not require additonal space (does not stick out to the front of the printer)
• Tight fit, no wobble
• Prints without any supports, no post-processing necessary

The drawer has no compartments - feel free to design your own inlays or remix it to fit your needs!

Print Settings

• Line width of 0.42 mm (use 0.419 mm, if your slicer skips some walls)
• Layer height 0.28 mm (first layer 0.32 mm, if you want it perfect)
• 3 wall lines
• 3 bottom layers, 5 top layers
• Infill: 20-30% (housing) / 0% (drawer)
• No supports required

Notes:

Reduce outer wall flow to 95% to avoid overextruding the corners. Apply the same reduction to the first layer to avoid elephants foot, or use -0.2 mm Initial Layer Horizontal Expansion in Cura.

The fit on the original model (v2) is pretty tight. Due to the varying tolerances in printers and printer calibrations, it might be easier to print the housing and drawer with 99.5% width (when viewed from the front). Height and depth don't require any scaling. The improved version 2.1 mitigates this issue.
