In some shops (e.g. Lidl), one can often only find salads with their roots. While it is the best way to keep fresh salad by letting it grow near the kitchen window, one now needs a planter pot and a planter bottom. And planter pots are either ugly, or they are impractical (or both) because the lettuce head is much bigger than the pot, making watering difficult.

But this planter pot is different ! The salad pot is specifically designed to contain salad plants bought in a store (with the root system being ~65mm wide and 60mm tall). The design is a pot and bottom all in one, so it can be safely carried around with one hand. Watering can be done by pouring water in one of the side pockets. The salad pot is also a vase mode design, for a seamless and plastic efficient design.

Also works with plants not included in the Lactuca genus. Probably.

Print Settings:

  • Spiral vase mode.
  • If printed with a 0.4mm nozzle, increase the (external) perimeter size to between 0.5 and 0.6mm
  • Tested with PLA, but PETG or ASA should do just fine.
  • There will be one single seam point. Changing the orientation of the model will change the location of the seam, but never quite make it disappear. You will have one single filament that will go across the model, and that should be removed with a cutter or a sharp knife.
