Dessicant/Dryer Cage

Add desiccant to your filament heater/dryer to bolster the drying process.

Inspired by Colin's Sunlu Filadryer, this basket fits in the center hole of your filament, safely holding one or more packets of silica gel desiccant and allowing air to circulate. The friction-fit lid provides a bit more room than a screw top.

Version 2 has thinner walls, a thinner lid and slightly less height for much faster printing and a better fit.

I stuff these with 20-gram packets of silica gel. The vendor says 10 grams of silica gel is adequate for a 5-gallon bucket. Roughly calculating, the Sunlu filament dryer is about 2 gallons capacity, so this setup delivers 500% drying power.
